touch screen news in august 2022

Is the iPhone 14 coming with touch screen news? This is a question that has been on our minds since the Chicago weatherman accidentally touched his TV screen while delivering weather information during his show. As his map began to move, morning co-host Valerie Warner asked him if he was serious. And then, mid-show, he tweeted that he’d stumbled upon “touch screen news in August 2022!”

iPhone 14 to feature unique dual cutout for camera/FaceID

Apple has confirmed that it will not release a Mini this year, but has instead replaced it with the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. Although Apple isn’t expected to ditch its Touch ID and Face ID models, it is still likely to release a range of four new iPhones in 2022. The iPhone 14 is expected to be the biggest phone yet, and the iPhone 14 Max will replace the mini. It is not yet clear whether Apple will release an iPhone mini next year, or not.

Rumors suggest that Apple will introduce an iPhone 14 with a pill-shaped cutout. The cutout is not entirely visible, but it is likely to be a bit taller than previous models. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes that this design is coming soon. A recent leak has revealed that the entire range of iPhones could feature the new dual cutout. The camera cutout would be located on the right, and the Face ID components would be located on the left.

Apple is also expected to release a bigger version of the iPhone 14 next month. Known as the iPhone 14 Max, it will be in sync with the iPhone 14 Pro. If the leak is accurate, the upcoming iPhone will have a larger camera bump. It is rumored that Apple will offer a purple version of the iPhone. If so, it could be a great opportunity to update the iPhone.

The iPhone 14 lineup is expected to be comprised of four models – the iPhone 14, the iPhone Max, and the iPhone Pro Max. The “Pro” model will have a unique dual cutout for camera/FaceID. The price of the iPhones will be the same across generations. But as for the price, it’s unlikely to be more than $400, so Apple will likely release a new iPhone 14 Pro in September.

While many users are concerned that Apple will ditch the notch, this report has given some hope to iPhone fans. Apple has long been rumored to replace the notch with an under-display Face ID system, but there are plenty of alternatives. Aside from the notch, Apple might also opt to implement an Always-On Display. A new design may mean that the iPhone will be much more distinctive than the current one.

Earlier, Apple’s announcements have hinted at a September launch date. The device will be available for pre-order on September 16 and go on sale on September 23. The release date is consistent with Apple’s past release patterns, and pre-orders would likely start on 16 September. A few leaks have also indicated the battery capacities of the iPhone 14 Max. These leaks are a precursor to the release of the iPhone 14.

A leak from Bloomberg suggests that Apple may be planning to introduce an under-display Face ID on the next iPhone. The patent granted to Apple also suggests that an under-display Touch ID will be built into the display. Apple currently uses a separate imaging sensor next to the display. Moreover, removing the notch could also enable Apple to return Touch ID in the power button.

There are two different screen sizes for the iPhone 14 line-up: a 6.1-inch model and a 6.7-inch model. Interestingly, the iPhone 14 Max is expected to have a lower price than the iPhone 14, while the iPhone 14 Pro will be slightly more expensive than the iPhone 14.

Gurman also cites a report from Taiwanese news site ‘Power On’ which claims that Apple has told US carriers to prepare for an eSIM-only iPhone launch by September 2022. The news suggests that the iPhone 14 may be the first phone to lack a traditional nano-SIM tray. There are a few rumors floating around.
